During and After the Procedure
- Preparation: Before the procedure, avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen for at least 7 days, as they can interfere with the healing process.
- Procedure: The entire procedure takes about 45-60 minutes. Most of the time is spent preparing the PRP.
- Post-Procedure: You may experience mild discomfort or swelling at the injection site for a few days. This is normal and usually resolves on its own.
Recovery Timeline
- 1-2 Days: Mild swelling or discomfort may occur.
- 1-2 Weeks: Gradual reduction in pain and inflammation.
- 2-6 Weeks: Tissue regeneration begins, and improvements in pain and function become noticeable.
- 3-6 Months: Full healing and regeneration occur, depending on the severity of the injury and the area treated.
